The Toulouse-Lautrec Experience

The Toulouse-Lautrec Experience (2013)

The Toulouse-Lautrec Experience is an immersive dance theater piece set as a site-specific performance at the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, CT.
"This dance was inspired by the present exhibit of Toulouse-Lautrec & His World at the New Britain Museum of American Art.  With French music and the French theme, it was delightful in every way to have Stephanie and her dancers perform and move throughout the gallery space.  It added to the ambience with the strong lyrical movements and the bright colored period (can-can) costumes.  We look forward to having RDT back again!" -Heather Whitehouse, Associate Curator of Education, New Britain Museum of American Art "Gallery performances have never really worked for me...but you and your troupe struck an  extraordinary balance between performance and ambiance.  All the artists are complimented.  Congratulations on a beautiful, subtle, and expressive piece of work:  echoes of Paris in the heyday of those artists who boldly went their own way.   I loved the freedom to move around "backstage."  The beginning tied to the end; to the beginning.  Very balanced and beautiful to watch through and around the work of Toulouse-Lautrec." -Jerry and Nina Krasser
