History

Reject Dance Theatre (RDT) is a contemporary modern dance company founded by Smith College alumni Rebecca Hite Teicheira, Stephanie Simpson, and Stephen Ursprung after completing their Masters of Fine Arts degrees in 2012. Founded upon a mutual commitment to collaboration and shared artistry, RDT serves as both the artistic playground and educational platform for its three directors. By combining creative forces, the directors have been able to amass a large repertory body of works, split into performance projects and educational packages. Currently, RDT is based in New York City and Boston and has performed in a variety of venues and festivals across the country including the MixMatch Dance Festival, Los Angeles, CA; Built on Stilts Festival, Martha’s Vineyard, MA; Triskelion Arts in Brooklyn, NY; New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain, CT; Trinity Rep Theater,  Providence, RI; the Dance Complex, Cambridge, MA; and Boston Center for the Arts, Boston, MA.
